What happened
JetZero was selected for $5.3 million in FAA CLEEN Phase IV funding to instrument the engines and nacelles of its Jet1 blended-wing-body demonstrator.
Why it matters: The program will generate in-flight airflow, noise and emissions-related data for a blended-wing-body design whose top-mounted engines are intended to reduce community noise.
